01 / The problem

Where it started

A festival needs a box office online.

Melophile Festival, Melofest for short, brought Juicy Luicy to Jenderal Sudirman Ground in Lhokseumawe on 13 May 2025. The organiser, CV Omar Jaya, planned to sell tickets in presale waves.

Selling through chat and spreadsheets makes it hard to know who has paid, and easy for a screenshot of a ticket to get through the gate twice. The festival needed one place to sell, confirm and check tickets.

What success had to look like

From first look to the gate.

  • 01

An event page with date, venue, directions and line-up.

  • 02

A short checkout for buyer details and proof of payment.

  • 03

An admin queue where the organiser verifies payments and sends e-tickets.

  • 04

A code on every ticket, checked once at the entrance.

02 / The process

From poster to entrance.

Four steps, from the festival's look to the day at the gate.

Phase 01

Design the look

The Melofest identity carried into every page: paper texture, stage illustration, ticket cards.

Phase 02

Map the sale

Presale waves, checkout fields and what the buyer receives.

Phase 03

Build the platform

Event pages, checkout, order management and e-tickets.

Phase 04

Run the day

Ticket verification at the gate on 13 May 2025.

03 / What we built

Five parts of one festival.

From the event page to the code checked at the gate.

01 / Event information

Everything before buying.

The event page carries the poster, date, time, venue with a link to directions, organiser and line-up, with the buy button next to them.

  • Presale waves shown as ticket cards
  • Line-up section for each act

02 / Ticket purchasing

One form, one upload.

Buyers enter their details and upload proof of transfer. The order summary shows the presale and quantity, and the email field notes where the invoice and e-ticket will go.

  • Several tickets in one order
  • Proof of payment attached to the order
Checkout page with buyer details, proof of transfer upload and order summary

03 / Order management

Payments checked in one queue.

The organiser opens each proof of transfer, approves or rejects it, and approved orders get their e-tickets. Ticket counts update as orders are confirmed.

  • Waiting, paid and rejected orders at a glance
  • E-tickets sent after verification
Admin order list with payment proof, status and verify or reject actions

04 / Ticket verification

Each code opens the gate once.

Every ticket in an order gets its own code. At the entrance, staff scan it on a phone; the first scan marks the ticket as used, so a copy will not get in again.

05 / UI/UX design

The festival's own look.

Crumpled-paper background, the stage illustration and torn-edge ticket cards come from the Melofest identity, so the site feels like part of the event rather than a generic checkout.

  • Tema: Makna dari Cerita
  • Paper texture, stage illustration, ticket cards

Vol.2

Built again for the next edition.

The same ticketing platform was used for Melophile Festival Vol.2 in Aceh, with Dewa 19 on the line-up.

  • Vol.1: Juicy Luicy
  • Vol.2: Dewa 19

Screens recreated for this case study. Buyer names and order numbers are sample data.

04 / Results

A sale with a clear trail.

Buying, payments, entry and the next edition.

Buying

A structured way to buy.

NowFans go from event page to checkout to e-ticket in one flow, instead of arranging tickets by chat.

Payments

Every transfer has an order.

NowEach proof of payment is attached to its order and verified in one admin queue.

One code, one entry.

NowGate staff verify each ticket on the spot, and a used code cannot be used again.

Ready for the next edition.

NowThe platform carried over to Melophile Festival Vol.2.
